The Kyneton Botanic Gardens will be the venue for a Mad Hatter’s tea party on the afternoon of Sunday 17th October.

The Mad Hatter and his friends will be feasting on a delicious spread of cakes, sandwiches, jam tarts and jelly and they invite you to join them in an afternoon of fun. The ticket price (adults $10, children/seniors $5) will include free face painting, tea tastings, music, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, a live show and of course your afternoon tea.

There will be prizes for the best dressed hats and there will be the opportunity to explore the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

Tickets will be available at the beginning of September from Ultimate Variety, 72 Mollison Street and Ladle Foodstore, 30 Piper Street.

Just under 200 children and adults enjoyed a morning of school holiday entertainment at the Baptist Church. It was a cold, damp day outside but inside there was plenty of warmth and laughter as Team Henderson transformed himself into the lovable clown. The Kyneton Community Park committee laid on hot drinks and cakes following the show and the morning proved to be a very successful fundraiser with almost $700 going towards the park. Thanks to everyone for supporting the event.

Watch out for the Kyneton Community Park committee in the Daffodil Parade. The Mad Hatter and his friends will be there too and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the tea party he is hosting in October. The Daffodil Parade is part of the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival.

A fun-filled show for the whole family, with music, juggling and silliness. Team Henderson delights the audience as he transforms himself from the ordinary man into the lovable clown.

Kyneton Community & Learning Centre run a Women’s Lunch and Chat every 2nd Thursday of each month. On 21 June, the guest speaker will be Kyneton Community Park Committee President Sarah Turner.

A fun and interesting article about a seniors playground which has just opened in Hyde Park in London:

“People can come and have fun and socialise at the same time,” said Madeline Elsdon, a member of Knightsbridge Association and the person behind the project. “We wanted to do something that led the way. Every park has a children’s playground. But there are few facilities for adults and very few for older adults. We hope in the future that every park will have a playground for older people.”

In the spirit of National Volunteer Week, the KCP members gathered at the Uniting Church Hall and offered the good citizens of Kyneton the opportunity to learn more about the vision of the Park, whilst enjoying some delicious homemade treats and the invitation to join us on our mission to create an exciting legacy in our town. It was a beautiful autumn day and whilst the children played happily together, the adults had a chance to talk about the site and design ideas for the Park and ways in which people can help. We thank all of those who came along – in particular those who signed up to join us! I am sure we will find plenty for you to do.
